In my twenties, I packed up my life in LaPlace, Louisiana, moved to North Texas with my 6-year-old son, and started over. Like so many families relocating today, I was excited about the opportunity—but overwhelmed by the unknowns. There wasn't a relocation guide to walk me through the differences between Dallas suburbs, explain Texas property taxes, or help me understand what I should be asking before buying a home. I had to figure it out on my own.

Just six months after arriving, I purchased my first home in Texas. That experience changed the trajectory of my life—and it's the reason I built my business the way I did.
